IS COSMETIC TEETH WHITENING FOR EVERYONE?
The short answer is no. If you have healthy gums and want to brighten your smile, you should consider teeth whitening. Our process removes stains from coffee, tea, tobacco and other staining foods, drinks and products. If you have existing dental work, teeth whitening will not affect that. Our products are specially formulated to help enhance the color of natural teeth. It is not a guarantee that this service will whiten dentures, veneers or other dental work.
Translucency & Thinness
Teeth that are thin and/or transparent have less of the natural pigment that is necessary for whitening. According to cosmetic dentists, transparency is the only condition that cannot be corrected by ANY form of teeth whitening.
IS WHITENING BAD FOR MY TEETH?
No! The ingredients of our teeth whitening products have no effect on your teeth’s enamel surface. My products are professional grade, and do not damage the enamel on your teeth.
HOW MUCH WILL THE COLOR OF MY TEETH IMPROVE?
Your results will vary depending on the condition of your teeth, cleaning & food/beverage consumption habits. However, you can expect to see your teeth at least 4-6 shades whiter after the first treatment. A noticeable difference occurs with regular whitening and/or changes food, beverage, cleaning and/or smoking habits.
WHAT CAUSES TEETH STAINING?
The habitual consumption of red wine, coffee, tea, cola, carrots, oranges, turmeric, curry and other deeply colored beverages and foods cause considerable staining to teeth. Acidic foods such as citrus & vinegar cause enamel erosion over time.
Nicotine leaves brownish deposits that slowly soak into the tooth structure and cause discoloration.
Teeth grinding and trauma ca cause cracking or micro-cracking in the teeth, causing the biting edges to darken and stain/debris collection in formed crevices.
WILL MY RESULTS LAST?
Since teeth whitening isn’t a permanent procedure, you can expect your teeth to lose their whiteness if you re-expose them to foods, drinks and products that stain. However, making whitening a part of your routine will help to combat this. Consistent whitening will preserve your results. The minimum time to wait between treatments is 4 weeks.
IS TEETH WHITENING PAINFUL?
Absolutely not. Aside from slight sensitivity and slight discomfort in very limited cases, my procedure is absolutely painless. Immediately following your teeth whitening, you'll receive a re-mineralization treatment at no extra cost. This treatment targets sensitivity and lessens the impact of sensitivity for up to 8 weeks.
WHO SHOULD NOT HAVE TEETH WHITENING?
Pregnant or lactating women are advised to avoid teeth whitening as the potential impact of swallowed bleaching agents is unknown. It is also recommended that persons receiving treatment be over the age of 11.
AFTER TEETH WHITENING CARE:
It is IMPERATIVE that you do NOT consume ANYTHING, especially tea, coffee, red wine, curry, etc. for at least THIRTY MINUTES after whitening. Your teeth are more susceptible to re-staining during this period. If you MUST consume anything, please do so using a straw.
